This election year presents an important opportunity for Highland residents to speak out about the changes they’d like to see in their community. The Shreveport-Caddo 2030 Master Plan Team will be holding Scenario Public meetings from Monday, May 10 to Thursday, May 14 to show us what Shreveport could be like in 20 years. The zoning appeal request for the Jan. 12th city council meeting was withdrawn by the applicant and removed from consideration. Thanks to everyone who called, sent emails, and wrote letters to the city council supporting the HRA’s position. We feel that it is not good social services practice to saturate a single street or area [...] The city council will meet on Tuesday, Jan. 12th at 3pm to discuss the appeal of an MPC ruling against the opening of a temporary shelter for runaway teenagers at 513 Jordan.
