Join us on National Night Out

Highland Heroes potluck dinner returns Oct.1

Highland neighbors are invited to bring a covered side dish or dessert and share a meal with police officers, firefighters and other first-responders serving the neighborhood at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 1.

The annual potluck dinner is hosted by Highland Restoration Association as a way to say thank you to our neighborhood first responders.  It’s held at the neighborhood fire station at the corner of Line Avenue and Wilkinson St.

This year’s dinner coincides with Shreveport’s #NationalNightOut – a night designed to heighten awareness of crime and drug prevention and strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships.

Those interested in bringing a dish, please email HRA secretary Sydni Smith at [email protected] with what you plan to bring.

HRA will provide rotisserie chickens from new neighborhood eatery Fat Calf Brasserie thanks to the generosity of Republic Services.

Have you been to Highland Park lately?

They’re up!

Four mile markers featuring fun facts about the history of Highland are now along the multi-use path at Highland Park. Highland Restoration Association worked with FusiForm Design Workshop to design and fabricate the markers. Shreveport Public Recreation and Assembly generously offered to install them.

This was a fun project that HRA hopes will encourage more residents to visit this neighborhood park. So next time you’re out that way, go check them out.
