Update: Important City Council Meeting

The zoning appeal request for the Jan. 12th city council meeting was withdrawn by the applicant and removed from consideration. Thanks to everyone who called, sent emails, and wrote letters to the city council supporting the HRA’s position. We feel that it is not good social services practice to saturate a single street or area with high need individuals. The location in question already has about 9 group facilities, with a total population of about 100 persons in need of intensive services. This type of saturation is harmful to those individuals seeking services and to the restoration efforts of HRA and Highland residents. We will no doubt need your continuing support on this issue; check back for more zoning updates in the future!
